About Entomomania

Entomomania is defined as a passion for insects. This is a page about insects, arthropods, other invertebrates and biology.

My name is Mel and I think about insects way more than the average person probably does. I have recently earned my undergraduate degree in biology and from here will start working towards higher degrees in entomology and behavior. I am fascinated by all things hexapoda, but it doesn't stop there. I am also infatuated with with the entire world of invertebrates. From porifera to echinoderms, they... all intrigue me! I've also been known to dabble a little in the vertebrate realm! I am currently helping to publish research with a professor studying convict cichlids, a species of tropical, fresh-water fish. I also currently work with a group studying lignin (a cell wall component) in plants being studied for biofuels.

With this page I want to share my obsession while learning more about the fascinating world of the undergrowth. I will try find a good balance of entertainment while relying heavily on science and up-to-date information. Please share links and feel free to add to the knowledge of the overall page community. Most of all, I hope to transfer some of my passion to others, because this world could never get enough bug nerds!
